The summer holiday provides a great opportunity to
significantly add to, improve and extend your portfolio. The work will also form a rich base for
exploring alternative and experimental techniques in your A2 Unit 3/Block 2 in
the autumn and will possibly feed into your final personal study in Block 3.
1. Visit at least 2 exhibitions that inspire you with
ideas or new approaches to your photographic practice. Collect plenty of visual and written reference material
- catalogues, brochures, postcards etc.
2. Make notes and sketches when you are at the exhibitions. (Include information on ideas, concerns, themes
of the work, size, materials used as well as some thoughts about the curation
of the exhibition.)
3. Write a
500 word review linking possible
photographic investigations to the exhibition work.
4. Consider ideas for your personal
study for Unit 3 block 3 (12 week visual investigation with a written
essay).
5. Take 4 x films/digital exploring some of the ideas arising from Block 1 or the
exhibitions or potential ideas for your study.
6. Bring
everything to your first lesson in the autumn term.
Enjoy the holiday!
